A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of Emory Briggs and the late Dorothy Davis. Angela was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister, and will be missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her husband, David Lee Whitten, sons, Romney Briggs and Joshua Whitten; daughter, Tabitha Whitten; two brothers, one sister, and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 17, at Trinity Baptist Church Chapel (216 Shelburne Road, West Asheville), with Rev. Allen Rash and Rev. Willard Pruitt officiating.
