Mary Blanche Hooper of Newark, N.J., passed away on Dec. 4, 2013, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J. Visitation is on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Cotton Funeral Service, 1025 Bergen St., Newark, N.J., and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 235 Seymour Ave., Newark. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment is at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, N.J. Mary was the beloved mother of Rev. Dr. Valerie M. Griffin and James Hooper Jr. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of family and friends.
