Mary Belle Smith December 24, 1911 - October 13, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) SMITH, Mary Belle - 92, Northwood Center, formerly of Fairview, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2004, in Northwood Center. Born in Gay's River, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Emma (Fraser) Wilson. Mary was a lifelong member of the UCW (Fairview). She enjoyed embroidery, working in her garden and reading. She is survived by daughter, Betty (Brian) De'Athe, Wilmot; son, Douglas (Dorothy) Smith, Komoka, Ont.; sister, Bessie (Howard) Goodall, Stewiake; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Sheldon Smith; son, Phillip George Smith; two sisters; five brothers. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, with funeral service at 10 a.m. Monday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Burial in Gay's River Cemetery, Rev. Heather Hemming officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society, or charity of choice.
