Service will be at 3 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Mary Beatrice Davis, 95, Gadsden, who died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008. The Rev. Phillip Redden will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Gallant. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.Mrs. Davis was a native of Blount County and she was retired from the University of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Davis; and children, Weldon Hodges, Loretta Burrell and Nathan Hodges.She is survived by her daughters, Mary Maddix, Maratha (Mac) McCay, Dothan; sisters, Helen Battles, Gallant, Juainta Redden, Attalla, Jean Little, Ohio. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.Pallbearers are Terry Cooper, Randy Hockensmith, Joey Stone, Shawn Holsonback and Charles Wingo.Special thanks to Wiregrass Hospice.The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home prior to the service.
