AYERS, Mary Ivy, wife of Ken Ayers, passed away Wednesday June 11, 2003. She was the first weather girl to report the weather in St. Petersburg on television and was announced as Miss Fair Weather, working f or old channel 38 in St. Petersburg. She is survived by her husband, Ken Ayers, who when he met her, she stole his heart immediately and forever, because she only reported fair weather, unlike today, when on ly gloom and doom is constantly forecast for the weather. She was very talented, able to type 100 words per minute and could take shorthand so fast, that she was hired for many official meetings to record wh at was said, without error. Mary and Ken worked together for 40 years, with Mary doing most of the work to perfection. She never uttered a unkind word to anyone and was loved by everyone she met. She graduat ed with honors from high school and two years of business school. When Ken met Mary, he hit the Powerball Lottery (Jackpot). Mary is survived by her husband, Ken; daughter, Tina Holliday; grandchildren, Dr. Kristi Fitzmorris Prockop and David Fitzmorris; sisters, Grace Clements and husband Bill, and Eve Taylor; brother, Howard Ridout and many nieces and nephews. Mary's husband, Ken, has lost two hands, two legs and his heart. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11 o'clock from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Orange Hill Cemetery. The family will meet one hour prior to services at the chapel of GONZALEZ FUNERAL HOME (813) 931-1833
