Mary Ethel Power Armstrong, 86, widow of Charlie Clifton Armstrong, formerly of 102 Crescent Drive, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center.Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late William Rucker and Lydia E. Owens Power. She was a homemaker and was a member of Laurens First Baptist Church, the Clara Smith Sunday School Class and the WMU, and the Laurens County Family and Community Leaders Barksdale-Narnie Club.She is survived by a daughter, Linda Finley, and husband, Robert, of Laurens; a sister, Corrine Martin, of Laurens; a sister-in-law, Wilma Power, of Laurens; two grandsons, John Finley, and wife, Joy, of Anderson, and David Finley, and wife, Tracy, of Greenville; and seven great-grandchildren, Ian, Peyton, Devon, Dillon, Tyler, Kirsten and Justin.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2004, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Drs. Bev T. Kennedy Jr. and Russell Dean, with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery.The family will be at 3019 Highway 221 S; and will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, prior to the service.Memorials may be made to Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center, Bus Fund, 1 Martha Franks Drive, Laurens, SC 29360.Kennedy Mortuary, Laurens.
