Mary-Anne Wilson-Goreau, conjointe de John Lincoln Devillier, fille de Nelson et Mary Anne Wilson, est décédée le 7 février 2005.
Mary Anne Wilson Goreau DeVillier, daughter of Nelson and Mary Anne Wilson Goreau, passed away at Tanner Medical Center on Monday, February 7, 2005. Mary Anne was born in Denison, Texas, as she liked to tell it, in the same house, in the same bed and delivered by the same doctor as her mother many years before. Her grandfather, a Vetaran of the War Between the States, not the civil war, was a great influence on her life. She remained a true Southern lady to the end. When Mary Anne left this world to take a position on the editorial board of our Heavenly Father, she brought to the position many accomplishments as a student and teacher. It is possible that she is looking over my struggles with this obituary. She set high standards. I am nervous. Mary Anne graduated as Valedictorian of her class at Southeastern Louisiana College in 1960. She excelled in writing and acting and received many awards including a one-year fellowship from the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. Her one-act Play ""Stardust'' won first place and was produced by Southeastern. In addition to her parents, Mary Anne was preceded in death by: her sister and brother-in-law: Alice Goreau Jefferys and Paul Jefferys; sister, Laurraine Goreau; and brother, Ted Goreau. Mary Anne's survivors include: her husband of 46 years, John Lincoln DeVillier; step-daughter, Anne E. DeVillier; sister, Mary Martha Goreau Wharton; nephews: Roger Winters and James Jefferys; and nieces: Mary Martha (Missy) Mann and Angeline Goreau McGruder. Mass for the deceased will be at 12:00 noon Friday, February 11, 2005 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Noon Kiwanis Club, American Legion, VFW and DAV. ALMON FUNERAL HOME of Carrolton, GA has charge of arrangements.
