NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mrs. Mary Ann Williams Bennett, 69, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, of Medie Ave., went to be with the lord, Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at University Hospital. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at Grace United Methodist Church at 10 AM with Dr. James C. Adams officiating. Interment will be private. To celebrate the life of Mrs. Bennett a reception will be held at the Wesley Center at Grace United Methodist following the service. Mrs. Bennett has lived in the North Augusta area for 58 years and 12 years in Battle Creek, MI. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Roundtable Sunday School Class, Chancel Choir, Knox-Wilhelm Circle, Red Hat Society, Daughters of Confederacy and several bridge clubs. Mrs. Bennett was also an eye donor and taught cooking lessons at Sears. She was President of PTA and band boosters during her children's school years and organized fund raisers for the schools and church. She was currently employed at Dr. T.I. Hodges Dental Office and was retired from First Union Bank. Survivors include her loving husband, Guy Bennett; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles H. and Michelle Bennett, II, of North Augusta; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Michael Smith, of North Augusta; a brother and sister-in-law, Erin W. and Hope Williams, of North Augusta; seven grandchildren, James McCloskey, Jason Bennett, John McCloskey, Jonathon Smith, Joshua Bennett, Jerry Bennett, and Julia Smith; and two nephews Erin Williams, Jr., of North Augusta, and Derrick Williams, of Kingston, TN. Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church Choir Fund, 639 Georgia Ave., North Augusta, SC 29841. Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
