Mary Ann Cooper (nee Bachan) East Chicago Mary Ann Cooper, age 72, of East Chicago, IN, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2005 at home. Survived by longtime companion, Peter Djordevich; son, Philip (Norma) Cooper; grandchildren: Christopher and Stacy; two sisters: Kathleen (Donald) Knieriemen of DeMotte, IN and Dolly Haluska of Highland, IN; nine brothers: Milan (Eileen) Bacan of Griffith, IN, Michael (Mary Ann) Bacan of Munster, IN, John (Barbara) Bachan of Cedar Lake, IN, Nicholas (Karen) Bachan of Calumet City, IL, Paul (Leona) Bachan of Munster, IN, Daniel (Fran) Bachan of Katy, TX, Robert (Loretta) Bachan of Junction City, KS, Richard (Gail) Bacan of Post Falls, ID; Darryl (Bernedette) Mihailovich of East Chicago, IN and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Preceded in death by parents: Nicholas Bacan and Mary Bacan Mihailovich; sister, Barbara Thweatt; brother, Joseph Bachan and brother-in-law, Henry Haluska; sister-in-law, Evelyn Bacan. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, August 15, 2005 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street (one block north of Columbus, US 12), East Chicago, IN. Funeral services at the funeral home will begin at 7:00 p.m., with Fr. Stanley Dominik, officiating. Private cremation services to follow. At rest Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City. Mary Ann retired from City Sales in East Chicago and was a member of the formerAssumption Church, East Chicago. She enjoyed her bingo and family card games. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family.
