ALLEN, Mary AnnOctober 11, 1951 - March 30, 2014Mary Ann was predeceased by her husband, Dan Daly in 2012. She is survived by her sister, Janet Clatney-Bertsch (Dale Bertsch), Richard Clatney (Danielle), Eliana, Josiah, Marcus and Jaclyn, Brian Clatney (Lisa), Caitlin, Myah and Avery; brother, Tom Allen (Marilyn), Trina (Curtis), Amelia, Trent (Marie), Elliot, Nicole Allen. She was predeceased by father, John Allen; mother, Eva Allen; and brother-in-law, Colin Clatney. Mary Ann was born at Wilkie, SK. She attended one-room country schools, Swarthmore and Inverallan and Norman Carter School and McLurg High School in Wilkie. She received a Bachelor of Education from the U of S and taught school at Norman Carter for four years. She worked for the late Cliff McIssac, MP and the late Eugene Whelan, MP in Ottawa. The remainder of her career was spent working for Privy Council administrating Royal Commissions. A Celebration of Mary Ann's Life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 192, (177 George Street), Carleton Place, on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Arrangements in the care of the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home and Chapel (613) 257-3113. Interment will be at a later date.
