Mary Martha (Reimers) Anderson went to her eternal reward on Thursday, December 21, 2006. Mary was born September 8, 1923, in Pittsburgh, Pa. Her father, John C. Reimers, was an "immigrant" from Keil, Germany; he was a painting and decorating contractor. As an artist he painted murals on ceilings of Catholic churches in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, area; he completed his life as a farmer. Her mother, Mary C. Wolfe, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, of German and Irish parents. Her mother was employed at Slippery Rock College. After graduating from high school, Mary worked at Westinghouse Electric in the production and time study offices and attended Duff's Business College in Pittsburgh during evening classes. In 1952 she enrolled at Central Bible College, in Springfield, Missouri, graduating in 1955 with a major in Christian Education. The following year she married Reverend Eddy Anderson, who accepted a position as Music Editor for the Assemblies of God while on their honeymoon! Mary was employed at the Women's Missionary Council office at the Assemblies of God Headquarters. In 1968 her husband became the pastor of the Full Gospel Church, Neptune, New Jersey, and she served as his secretary. After assisting her husband in several churches, Mary returned to Springfield with her husband and worked at Central Bible College in the accounting office for 17 years. Mary was a gifted singer and she, with her husband, produced an album entitled, "The World Is Filled With God's Music." She is survived by her husband, Reverend Edwin "Eddy" Anderson, of Springfield, Missouri; son, Dr. Edwin P. Anderson II and wife, Margaret, of New Brighton, Minnesota; daughter, Judith Melody Hylton and husband, Brent, of Liberty, Texas; daughter-in-law, Carole Anderson Brubaker, of Stone Ridge, Virginia; grandchildren, Eddie, Mathias, Adam and Alaina Anderson, Victoria and Jordan Elizabeth Hylton, and Kristen Anderson Dhillon and husband, Biney; one great-grandson, Pearson Richard Anderson Dhillon; one brother, John Reimers and wife, Edna; one sister, Ruth Shawgo and husband, Glenn; and brother-in-law, Douglas Morris, all of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Dr. Richard A. Anderson; and one sister, Dorothy Morris. Celebration of life services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at 1 p.m. in the Rivermonte Chapel at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, in the Rivermonte Chapel, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, Mo., 65804. Online condolences can be made at www.klingner-cope.com.
