PETERS, Mary Alyce (nee Bedwell) 86, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away on Oct. 12, 2007, after a short illness. She is preceded in death by Henry "Ray" Peters, her loving husband of 58 years, who died on Aug. 30, 2007. Mary was born in Muncie, IN, on Aug. 2, 1921. Her family moved to Cincinnati when she was 8 years old. She graduated from Deer Park High School in 1939. Mary was the first woman supervisor in the Cincinnati Post Office. She was branch manager of the Montgomery Post Office until she retired in 1979. She worked for the Post Office more than 31 years. For many years Mary and Ray owned, bred and raced thoroughbred horses. They moved to Florida in 1992. Mary is preceded in death by her brother, Marion C. "Bud" Bedwell, and is survived by her sister-in-law, Martha Bedwell; 1 nephew, Fred Bedwell; and 3 nieces, Judy Auchter, Marian Paola-Walton and Barbara Evans. Internment will take place in Rest Haven Memorial Park in Cincinnati. Memorial donations may be made to VITAS Hospice Care, 11500 Northlake Drive, Suite 400, Cincinnati, OH 45249.
