Mary Alice Lewis, age 77, a long time Tucumcari, NM, resident, passed away in Albuquerque, NM, on Sunday, October 11, 2009. Mary Alice was born January 12, 1932, in Clayton, NM. She graduated from Clayton High School and attended Colorado Women's University. She was married to her husband, Jack Lewis, for 59 years. She served at the Center Street United Methodist Church for 25 years as Choir Director, Hand Bell Choir Director, active member, and Church Secretary. She had been a member of PEO and was a very talanted pianist/organist. She served on the Board of Directors of Farmer's and Stockman Bank. She was a National Officer of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers. Surviving her is her husband, Jack of Tucumcari; three daughters and their families, Becky Conley of Cantonment, FL, Susan Holder of Starkville, MS, and Caren Lamb of Santa Rosa, NM; her loving grandchildren, Beau Lamb of Portales, NM, Shad Morgan of Cantonment, FL, Chance Holder of Great Falls, MT, Shannon Holder of Starkville, MS, Tiffany Holder of Las Cruces, NM, Ryan Conley of Lake City, FL, and Jennifer Keller of Ormond Beach, FL, and their families, including 11 Great Grandchildren. Memorial services celebrating her life will be Thursday afternoon, October 15, 2009, in the Center Street United Methodist Church beginning at 1:30 PM. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home, Tucumcari, NM, 575 41-3815.
