Mary Alice Carroll, 81, died Jan. 13, 2010, at the Treasure Coast Hospice Residence, Stuart. She was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and lived in Stuart for 25 years, coming from Dubuque, Iowa. She received her bachelor's degree from Iowa State University. Before retiring, she was an executive administrator with many charitable organizations. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. Her memberships included the Martin County Chamber of Commerce and Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She was a former Girl Scout executive. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Robert E. Carroll of Stuart; sons, Robert E. Carroll of Palm Harbor, James E. Carroll of Winnetka, Ill., and Thomas J. Carroll of Woodstock, Ill.; sister, Georganne Woodruff of Rockwell City, Iowa; and eight grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 15 at Martin Funeral Home, Stuart.
