After her retirement she served as amember of the Silver Haired Legislature. Mary Aliceserved as the state president of the Alabama WomanÆs Missionary Union, wasactive in First BaptistChurch of Prattville whereshe taught the Senior AdultWomenÆs Sunday SchoolClass for many years andwas elected to the Alabama Senior Citizens Hallof Fame. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore LawrenceBaker. She is survived byher children, Joan Speights(John), Faye Jacobson(Richard), James L. Baker;nine grandchildren, Angela Locklar, Sarah AliceSavas, Joy HenriettaNyeste, John Speights, III,Georgia Prince, TommySpeights, ChristopherJacobson, Ashley Davies,James L. Baker; fourteengreat grandchildren andone great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be:John Speights, III, TommySpeights, Christopher Jacobson, James L. Baker,Julian Prince and John Davies.
