MARY ELLEN ADAMS -INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH - Mary Ellen Adams, 75, died at home surrounded by family on Thursday, December 4, 2008. Born Mary Ellen Meuser on August 27, 1933 in Milford, CT, she came to Brevard County in 1960. She was a registered nurse, and worked at Holmes Regional when it first opened as Brevard Hospital on Hickory Street. She worked as a nurse for more than 30 years, and continued her service to the community through volunteer work after that. She was a devout Catholic, and greeted at 12:00 Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Mary Ellen, known as Peka to many, enjoyed chaos, especially when it involved a house full of people. The more the merrier. No one was ever a stranger to her. Her generosity, open arms, and great cooking will be missed by us all. She leaves behind an extended family that will miss her greatly, including her sister, Joan Dwyer of Phoenix, AZ; brothers, Joe Meuser of Stratford, CT and John Meuser of Milford, CT; her children, Sherrill Bullock (Thane), Larry Adams, Mike Adams (Sherry), Ronnie Adams (Diane), Jerry Adams, Bob Adams (Tara), and Kathy Turner; grandchildren, Shauna LaPointe (Tree), Joshua Bullock, Daniel Adams, Robbie Turner, Gabriel Adams, Brennan and Brittany Baker, Ariana Lanahan, Thomas and Christopher Starling; and great-granddaughter, Kiley Zaagman. Mary Ellen was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Dan Adams; sister, Ann Walker; and brother, Bill Meuser. Viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 9th at South Brevard Funeral Home on Hickory Street in Melbourne. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10th at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, with burial following at Florida Memorial Gardens.
