MANCHESTER CENTER - Mary A. Kent, 81, died July 15, 2013, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. She was born Jan. 14, 1932, in Dorset, the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Read) Moffit. She attended local schools. She worked for the Hale Company, Orvis and at Stratton Mountain, before she started caregiving for many area residents for many years. She enjoyed cooking, bird watching, and going to casinos and playing slots. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas, Florida, Plumb Island, and Maine. Survivors include her husband, Albert F. "Skee" Kent Sr. of Manchester Center, whom she married in Manchester on Oct. 18, 1952; three sons, Albert F. "Skip" Kent Jr. of Mount Tabor, Ronald Kent of Hampton, N.H., and Robert Kent of Comstock, N.Y.; three daughters, Debra Colegrove and Donna Andersen, both of Manchester, and Kimberly Kent of Pawlet; three brothers, Eugene Moffit of Manchester, Pete Moffit of Wells, and Edward Moffit of East Dorset; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Alice Shattuck of Fauquay Varina, N.C.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by many of her siblings. Friends may call Saturday, July 20, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home, followed by a celebration of life at 12 noon.
