Mrs. Mary Alice Carter, 73, Leighton, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005. Funeral services will be at noon Monday at Mount New Home Missionary Baptist Church, Leighton, Ala., with the Rev. Andrew McGhaee officiating. Burial will be in Mount New Home Cemetery, Leighton, Ala. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Leighton, Ala.She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mae Helen Little, Sheffield, Ala., Mrs. Rochell Davis, Leighton, Ala., Mrs. Martha (Barry) Bonds, Russellville, Ala.; six sons, Mr. William James (Lynn) Carter, Mr. Larry (Martha) Qualls, Mr. Ozzie Sr. (Anita) Carter, Mr. Terry Carter, all of Leighton, Ala., Mr. John L. (Mildred) Carter, Russellville, Ala., Mr. George (Barbara) Qualls, Sheffield, Ala.; 32 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, etc.; one uncle, Lacey Parham, Courtland, Ala.; a special friend, Mrs. Monica Cowan; and special cousin, Mrs. Gladys Canty, Leighton.Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
