Marvin Stuart Miller 1950 - 2014 MILLER, Marvin Stuart -It is with profound sadness that Marvin's family announces his sudden passing on August 14, 2014. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Sally, his beloved sons Brian and Erik (Sheila), brother Kelly (Muriel), sister Kim (Pete), nieces and nephews, and too many friends to count. To say that he was well-loved feels flat in contrast to the reality; he was both respected and adored by those whose lives he touched.Born November 30, 1950 in Salmon Arm, the son of Jack and Audrey Miller, Marv graduated from UBC in 1972. He pursued a career in information technology [CP Air, Bell Northern Research, ISM-BC, TELUS, Atos Origin (VANOC)] and was fortunate enough to be able to immerse himself in his hobbies after his retirement.He made friends everywhere he went. In recent years, he spent much of his time and energy volunteering with Grouse Mountain's First Aid Ski Patrol, where he not only provided medical assistance to skiers, but also took on many of the organization's administrative duties. In 2013, he discovered his love for dragon boating, and enjoyed after-practice coffees on rainy mornings with his teammates.He loved his family, he loved the outdoors, and he was the consummate good guy. A celebration of his life will be held on September 21, 2014 at the False Creek Community Centre, Vancouver at 5:30pm.
