Avis de décès de Marvin-L. Morgan

ObituaryBeloved husband and loving father, Marvin L. Morgan, age 78, died on December 30, 2000 at the Southwest Regional Hospital in Fort Myers, FL. Marvin's parents, Lester and Gladys (Moon) and step-father, Ernie Montgomery preceded him in death. His lovely wife, Gretna Faye (Goodier), who resides at their home in Alva, FL, survives Marvin. He continues to live on through the five children he loved so deeply; Gary Morgan, Choctaw, OK, Vonna O'Neill, Morristown, NJ, Dick Morgan, Syracuse, IN, Darla Steeh, New Haven, MI and Jan Ison, Shelby, NC. Marvin was also the grandfather of 10 grandsons, 9 granddaughters and 22 great-grandchildren. In addition, Marvin extended his parenting and home to foreign exchange student, Harri Hintsa, Vantaa, Finland.Marvin was a member of Calvary Temple, Ft. Wayne, IN and New Covenant Worship Center, Athens, GA, which he and his wife helped to establish by donating the land on which it stands and helped supervise the construction of the first church. Marvin and his wife retired to Florida in 1990 and regularly attended the First Assembly of God church in Fort Myers. He served his country in WW II on board the ship, USS Moale and was a member of Battle of Ormoc Bay Association, President 1991 - 1995 and the American Legion Post #246.It was truly a wonderful life that Marvin had. He loved all living things. . .great and small, was an engaging storyteller and loved having fun. It is especially difficult to lose him at this time of year as he was Santa to hundreds of children over the years and loved serving meals to large gatherings of family and friends during the holidays. He had a very beautiful life and enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. We shall miss him so much but know that he has gone home with the angels and is now sitting at God's great banquet. The family will receive friends at the Brazzell Funeral Home in Albion, IN, on Thursday, January 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. We will celebrate Marvin going home to the LordÕs house during services being held at Asbury Methodist Church, Albion, IN at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5 with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion.
