Marva Elaine Gethers Williams, entered into eternal rest Saturday, March 1, 2014. She was the youngest child of the late Johnnie and Julia Gethers born in Pineville, South Carolina and spent her grammar years in Miami, FL., Cross, SC and Syracuse, NY. Marva also attended Roosevelt Junior High School and was a graduate of Central Technical High School in 1972. She participated in cheerleading, basketball, gymnastics and track and field. Thereafter was employed by Niagara Mohawk for 26 years serving as a payroll clerk and a Customer Service Representative. In the year 2000 she ventured to San Diego, CA and returned home in 2003. Her Christian experience was as a member of Roosevelt Memorial Baptist Church under the leadership of her uncle, the late Pastor Pinckney A. Johnson in Auburn, NY, Central Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Gainey and Southern Missionary Baptist Church until she became disabled. In her union to Herb Williams, she was blessed with two children, Eric and Ashley Trinity Williams. Marva, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend enjoyed people especially family and friends, fun, good food, laughter, with a great sense of humor... Marva was quite a joker. Loved playing cards, watching sports, and was an avid fan of tennis and BINGO BINGO BINGO. Moore; nephews, Muhammad Jihad and Chance Gethers; several cousins, including most recent Caroline Johnson Bryan; and her Bingo friend, Nellie Connors. She continues to live through her loving children: Eric (Robbin) of Lancaster, PA and Ashley Trinity (Kurt) Williams of Detroit, MI; grandchildren: Eric Gardner, Donte J., Amari K. and most recent addition, Arika L. M. Williams; brothers and sisters: Andrew Jenkins of Moncks Corner, SC, Marteen Saleem of Cross, SC, Diane Latta (Arthur) of Palatine, IL, Abdullah B. Jihad (Sakinah) of Marietta, GA, Hernese and Onetha Gethers (Charles), and Eileen Thomas, Lois Echols and Joan Hill, all of Syracuse; Rozella Cassidy (Donald) of Texas; God sister, Arielle Hill; Aunt Lee, Aunt Roe, Aunt Ceil, Aunt Alice and Uncle Jim; nieces, nephews, cousins, including Derrick "Rick" Spann (Pam); other relatives and many friends.
