Tews, Martha W.Oct. 26, 1932 - Feb. 21, 2011Martha Wilkerson Tews, 78, of Orlando, Fla. went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 21, 2011 from complications of a brain aneurysm. Martha was born in Fort Benning, Ga. and as the daughter of an Army Colonel, attended 12 different schools between Kindergarten and High School graduation. As her family moved almost every year, her adopted home became the family farm in South Georgia where she would spend each summer with her cousins and maternal grandparents. After graduation from FSU, Martha went to work for National Bank of Sarasota where she met and married the love of her life - Hans Tews. Two years later she gave birth to a son Charles, and 17 months later a loving daughter Missy. In addition to Martha's deep faith in Jesus Christ, she was committed to many local non-profits and charities. She served as President of the PTA at Lake Highland Prep, President of The Junior Cotillion of Orlando and President of the Orlando Museum of Art's Council Of 101. She was a loving wife, all around fun Mom and a treasured friend to many. She is survived by her husband Hans; son Charles Tews (Jan); daughter Missy Wilson (Tony); her five adoring grandsons Tyler (15), Chas (12), Mac (10), Charlie (8) and Beck (3). She is also survived by her sister, Jackie Roler; and niece Pam Woideck (Al). In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1515 S. Semoran Blvd., Orlando, FL 32822 in honor of Martha Tews.
