Martha "Skeeter" Stephens, age 73, of Winder, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013. She retired from Wal-Mart as a retail sales associate. Skeeter loved to play Spider Solitaire on her computer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jarrold Eugene Stephens; both her mother and father, William Meyer and Myrtle Sabina Anderson; and one brother, James Meyer. Survivors include: her sons, Alan (Wanda) Stephens of Manistique, MI and Bruce Stephens of Winder; her daughter, Rhonda (Larry) Smith of Winder; three grandchildren, Chris Cruse, Michael Cruse, and Jeremy Smith; and two great grandchildren, Cameron Cruse and Aiden Cruse. The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m. on Friday, March 8 at Smith Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Shuford Jones officiating. The burial will follow the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens.Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
