Martha "Mary" Smith, 82, Seymour, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at The Meadows Health Care Campus, Franklin. Mrs. Smith was a member of Uniontown Baptist Church. She had been a restaurant employee. Born May 17, 1926, in Scottsburg, Mary was the daughter of Walter and Stella Conry McQuilling. On Sept. 2, 1990, in Seymour, she married Joseph E. Smith, who survives. Others survivors include six stepdaughters, Nellie MacWilson, Macy June Hilton, Geneva Watson, Josephine Jackson, Pauline Hicks and Nancy Howard; three stepsons, Jerry Wayne Smith, John Edward Smith and Steve Weddle; and a sister, Bertha Marion. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Victor Weddle; two daughters, Peggy McNulty and Janice McNulty; and a stepdaughter, Ella Mae Day. The Rev. Roger Smith will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Uniontown Cemetery with a Voss Dove release. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Kidney Association. www.vossfuneralservice.com
