Martha Nan Jackson (Retired Educator) Macon, GA- Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Martha Thomas Jackson will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, August 30, 2014 at New Piney Grove Baptist Church, 258 Straight Street. Mrs. Jackson was born to the parentage of George Thomas and Betsy Lee Thomas Newton in Winder, GA and reared by her mother and step-father, Jim Newton. Her Christian faith was nourished at an early age in Winder and sealed through her works at New Piney Grove. Following her education in the Winder School System, Mrs. Jackson became a proud graduate of Fort Valley College and State University. Following graduation, she dedicated her life to the students of Bibb County, having taught at both Porter and Barden Elementary Schools. Mrs. (Thomas , Roberson) Jackson is fondly remembered by both parents and students wherever she goes…with an infectious smile. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Willie Bee Jackson; daughter, Stasia Roberson, step-children, Cedric Jackson, Lisa Jackson, and Tina Jackson; three granddaughters to inherit that smile, Jada, Kiersten, and Kennedie and several step-grandchildren; sister, Heron Moreland; brothers, Marvin Newton and James Newton; She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Robert Thomas and Frederick Newton. Her life lived will be forever fortified by her in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, students, church family, former co-workers and friends. Mrs. Martha Jackson,.. a Legacy!. Family Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 PM at Bentley's Chapel(Montpelier Ave.) Services entrusted to Bentley & Sons Funeral Home, Macon.
