Martha Janice McCroskey King, 84, of 198 Stephens Road, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at the Hospice House of Anderson. Born in Stevens County, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Thomas Samuel McCroskey and Martha McKinney King. She was a homemaker and a member of Clemson United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Louie Bryan King, Jr. and wife, Louise, of Powdersville, Dwain Allen King and wife, Lesley, of Central; a brother, Kendall McCroskey of Greenville; two sisters, Sallie Mae Collins of Taylors, and Emma Hughes of Columbus, Ga.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Louie Bryan King, Sr.; and two sisters, Francis Guice and Ina Posey. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, with Reverend Pat Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
