She was a member of the Pentecostal Bible Church of Jesus. Martha worked as a nurses aide at Clover Bottom and as a dietitian at Central State Hospital. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Martha Jane Adams; brothers, Houston, Rubon and Jimmy Adams; sisters, Mae Smith and Anglee Pendergrast.She is survived by her sons, Jerry Pendergrast of Woodbury, TN and Henry Pendergrast of Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Helen Lentz of Chattanooga, TN and Betty Sue Eason of Murfreesboro, TN; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.Visitation with the family will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Jennings & Ayers, with John Tipton officiating.
