Funeral for Martha B. Smith, 79, of Decatur will be Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Smith and the Rev. Sandra Locke-Godbey officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Lawrence County to Fred Terry and Dorcus Sherrill Terry. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Burgess; her parents; and two sisters, Tootsie Pace and Virginia Sims. Survivors include her husband, W.O. “Billy” Smith; three daughters, Billie Collier of Lawrenceville, Ga., Becky O’Shields and husband Bob of Decatur and Beth Butler and husband Jeff of Somerville; and three grandchildren, Kristy Hilley and husband Brad of Dawsonville, Ga., Jason Collier and wife Jennifer of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Greg Butler of Somerville. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Valley.
