<br> -->Marshall B. Moore DUNCAN, SC-- Marshall B. Moore, 88, widower of Betty M. Moore, passed away on January 16, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. Mr. Moore was a lifelong resident of Duncan and the son of the late Harold Thomas and Nylic Bland Moore. Mr. Moore attended Wofford College where he played football and joined the Air Force in 1941. He received numerous metals including the Distinguished Flying Cross and was a highly decorated Veteran of World War II. Mr. Moore was an avid sportsman and received the SC State Skeet Shooting Award for several years. He was the first president of the James F. Byrnes High School booster club. He was a member of the Duncan United Methodist Church, and a past member of the Board of Trustees at James F. Byrnes High School. Surviving is a daughter, Jeanne M. Helton of Orange Beach, Alabama; two grandchildren, James Philip "Bubba" Helton of Augusta, Georgia and Elizabeth Marshall Helton of Orange Beach, Alabama and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Boardman Helton and Blair Elizabeth Helton. He was preceded in death by a daughter Marsha M. Moore. Visitation will be held 6:30- 8:30 PM Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Wood Mortuary. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 18, 2008 at Wood Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Elizabeth Thompson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Duncan United Methodist Church, Main Street, Duncan, SC 29334. Online condolences may be made at www.thewoodmortuary.com.
