<!-- FH = Westmoreland Funeral Home -->MARJORIE LOVEN WHITEMARION - Marjorie Loven White, 90, died Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was a resident of Brookridge Baptist Retirement Center in Winston-Salem for the past four years.Mrs. White was born in Spruce Pine, N.C. on August 27, 1921 to Carl and Cordie Loven. She was married to Thomas E. White who preceded her in death in 2006. Mrs. White was a member of First United Methodist Church, Marion, N.C. where she and her husband lived for 54 years. She attended Mars Hill College and graduated from Limestone College with a degree in Home Economics and Science. She taught in Batesburg, S.C. and later in Marion.Marjorie loved to cook for family and friends and was a gracious hostess. She was a member of United Methodist Women and the Marion Garden Club. Although she had no children of her own, she dearly loved her nieces and nephews and she will be remembered as a generous and loving aunt.She is survived by one sister, Evelyn Ochs and husband, Rev. Theodore Ochs. Surviving nieces and nephews are: Lucretia McCulley and husband, Dan Ream, Mary Evelyn McCulley, Dorie Hecker, Diane Lynburner, Martha Coursey, Kathrine Hunt, Frances Ramendo, Douglas Dunlap, Jim Dunlap and Robert Hall; and great nephew, Paul Ream.A memorial service will be at Brookridge Retirement Center, Saturday, February 11, at 3 p.m. Another service will be at Westmoreland Funeral Service in Marion on Sunday, February 12, at 2 p.m., followed by internment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Marion.The family appreciates the care of all those at Brookridge and the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center doctors and nurses in the emergency, ICU and the palliative care units.
