Marjorie R. McDonald WINDHAM -- Marjorie R. (Steeves) McDonald passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Feb. 15, 2007, at Maine Medical Center. She was born in Portland, on Aug. 17, 1925, to Russell P. and Lena M. (O'Blenis) Steeves. She attended local schools and graduated from Windham High School Class of 1943. On Oct. 15, 1943, she married her high school sweetheart, Carroll McDonald in Morgantown, W.Va. She lived all her life in Windham, and worked for 25 years as administrative assistant to the Superintendent of the Maine Correctional Center, formerly known as the Men's Reformatory, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, and crafts, and attending bluegrass music festivals in Maine and Florida. She is survived by her husband Carroll of Windham; son David and wife Molly of Skowhegan; daughter Karen Hopkins and husband Blaine of Greenville and Ft. Myers, Fla.; granddaughters Brenda Lebo and husband Mark of Milford, N.Y., and Maureen Hopkins and fiancŽ Joseph Butler of Windham; sister Frances Deady of Hooksett, N.H.; half-sister Eva Storey of South Portland; brother-in-law Kenneth McDonald and wife Betty of Berlin, Md.; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Dolby Funeral Chapel 434 River Road, Windham. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., at the Chapel. The Rev. Sally Colegrove will officiate. Spring Burial will be in the family lot, Smith Cemetery, Windham.
