ObituaryMarjorie Mae Smith, nee Metzger was born June 8, 1929 and passed away August 12, 2008. She was married 61 years to George Wm Smith, of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. She served in the Choir at Our Lady of Light and St Cecilia's many years, until her health prevented it.She was preceded in death my her mother and father, Hazel and Richard Metzger and brother, Gene, Aurora, Il.She is survived by her loving husband, George Smith, brother Jack Metzger, sons Geordie Smith and Robert Smith, daughters, Lorna Johnson (Smith) and Jacqueline Turner (Smith), her 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.Marge loved life and excelled in every endeavor she pursued. She was known for her compassion and love of family and God. She is a dearly beloved woman whom will be sorely missed by all who knew her.There will be a wake at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, Friday from 6-8pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church on Saturday at 10 am followed by internment.
