SCHENECTADY Marjorie Lillian Davis, 85, formerly of Rochester, N.H. and Danvers, Mass., died Saturday, December 18, 2004 at the Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady, N.Y. She was the widow of Philip Wellington Davis. Born in Lynn, Mass. on December 6, 1919, she spent her childhood in Lynn and Danvers. After graduating from high school at the age of 16, she became a bookkeeper. She married Philip W. Davis in Plastow, N.H. in 1938. During World War II, she worked as an airplane assembler. After the war, Phil and Marjorie built their home on Gorman Road, with Marjorie hammering all the shingles onto the roof. Marjorie held numerous clerical positions, including office manager for Almy's Department Store in Danvers. After her husband died in 1974, Marjorie enrolled in Beverly Community College, Beverly, Mass. She moved to Rochester, N.H. in 1987, where she became president of the Lilac City Association. As a member of the Lilac City Women's Club, she knitted and donated clothing for babies born with AIDS. She cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, providing love, support and guidance. Until the age of 80, her favorite activity was traveling throughout New England to watch football games and rowing regattas of her twin grandsons, Shawn and Chris. She was the foundation for the successes experienced by her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Kenaley of Albany and Wendie Rajotte of Danvers; four grandchildren, Christopher Philip Kenaley of Seattle, Wash., Shawn Christopher Kenaley of Morgantown, W.Va., Jessica Wozniak of Clinton, Mass., Matthew Rajotte of Danvers; a great-granddaughter, Samantha; her love in New Hampshire, Ronald Mountain of Rochester, N.H.; her extended family at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Tebbutt Funeral Home, 633 Central Avenue in Albany, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited. A calling hour will precede the service from 5 to 6 p.m. Interment will take place at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Danvers, Mass. on Thursday at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 24th Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20037.
