WATERVILLE -- Marjorie E. Ashcroft, 67, of Pleasant Ridge Plantation made her final journey on Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, with her loved ones by her side at MaineGeneral Medical Center. She remained strong and courageous throughout her six-week battle with illness and may now rest in peace. Marjorie has gone to be with the Lord Jesus! Let the love of Jesus fill your hearts as he did hers, one day at a time.Marjorie was born Feb. 27, 1938, in Chicago, the daughter of Harry and Marjorie (Parish) Ensminger.On Aug. 14, 1981, she married Colby Ashcroft and they spent 24 happy years together, living a peaceful life, full of love. They loved going fishing and camping and they had lots of fun together.Marjorie leaves her loving husband Colby, four children, six grandchildren, two brothers, three pets and many dear friends. God has richly blessed her through her family and friends and she will be greatly missed by all.Marjorie spent most of her life helping others. She was a kind, caring nurse for many years and very proud of her career. She was a member of the Eunice Farnsworth Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Girl Scouts. Marjorie loved the Lord Jesus and was a very active member of her church. She loved music, especially gospel and enjoyed singing in the choir. She volunteered for many church activities, especially the programs for the children. She loved spending time with young people and being so close to her granddaughter, Ashley P. Giguere, made her life complete. They were very special to each other.Marjorie loved the birds of the air and worked hard each spring to bring beauty in flowers that smiled each day in the summer.Marjorie was a recovering alcoholic since 1985 and proud of it. She was looking forward to celebrating her 20th year of sobriety on Sept. 18. It was very important to her and so we shall celebrate her life on this day. A small graveside service will be held at the Pleasant Ridge Plantation Cemetery at 3 p.m., with Pastor Valmore Vigue officiating.In lieu of flowers, please send donations for the teen program to Crossroads Bible Church, Madison, ME 04950Marjorie said, "The Lord Jesus is so good!"
