EAST DORSET - Marjorie B. Johnson, 83, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at her home. She was born Oct. 5, 1929, in East Dorset, the daughter of James and Inez (Harris) Bebee. She attended school in East Dorset and graduated from Burr & Burton Seminary. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for the town of Dorset, and was the town manager's assistant. She also volunteered at the Wilson House in East Dorset for many years. She was a member of the East Dorset Congregational Church, taking over as organist from her mother in 1984. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and gospel music. Survivors include her children, Grant Johnson of Houston, Mo., and Ruth J. Olschewske of Alton, N.Y.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Johnson, whom she married in East Dorset on July 11, 1947. He died Aug. 1, 1991. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the East Dorset Congregational Church. Interment will follow in South Village Cemetery in East Dorset.
