Marion O. Howard THOMPSON Marion O. Howard, 96, of Thompson, died Sunday, April 12, 2009. She was born December 30, 1912, in West Medway, MA, daughter of the late William and Alice (Bullard) Ollendorff. She was married to the late Donal Howard he died in 1977. She worked for 20 years at the Old Sturbridge Village and had previously worked for SNET as a service rep in Brookline, MA. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in 1935 and from the Dean Academy in Franklin, MA in 1931. Marion had made her home in Thompson since 1941, a longtime member of The Thompson Congregational Church, the Womens Board of Day Kimball Hospital, she was active with the Thompson Historical Society for many years, and an avid bridge player. Marion had a wide diverse circle of friends. She leaves a nephew, Richard Stanton and his wife Veronica of New Hope, PA, a niece, the Reverend Katherine Bullard of Plymouth, NE, grand nieces Amy McComb of Loveland, CO and Lara Strube of Horton, KS, Doreen Gorman of Medfield, MA, a grand nephew, David Mills of Worcester, MA and her dear great cat. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marjorie Agnew and Alice Fitzpatrick. A Memorial Service will be held May 28, 2009 at 5:00 PM in the Thompson Congregational Church, 347 Thompson Road, Thompson, CT, burial in Evergreen Cemetery, West Medway, MA. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Thompson Congregational Church, PO Box 308, Thompson, CT. Arrangements by Smith & Walker Funeral Home, Putnam.
