CROWE, Marilyn June (nee Winterburn) Widow of Donald (DJ) Crowe who passed in June of 1989. Born in Victoria March 4, 1934, Marilyn passed away peacefully June 19, 2006, in Victoria. Marilyn joined the Naval Reserve with girlfriend Billie in 1953 and soon met and married Don. A long time member of TOPS (KOPS) and an avid 5-pin bowler, she missed these activities when she came into care 6 years ago. Marilyn studied piano for many years and loved music. Her accomplishments included raising 5 children, Sunday school work, church volunteer, PTA President and keeping the home fire burning during Don's many years at sea. Predeceased by daughter Trisha in 2003, survived by: mother Mary Winterburn; twin sisters Joan (Ron) Neil and Pat (Walter) Benson; daughter Teresa (Dan Griffith); sons Michael (Marianne); Wayne (Sharon), and David; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Thank you to Dr. George Urban and a special thanks to all the wonderful staff at the Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday June 22, at Oaklands Chapel, 2736 Fernwood Road (at Cedar Hill). The family asks for donations in lieu of flowers to be made to the Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion. 260115
