WATERVILLE -- Marilyn Barbara Nadeau, 73, of Waterville, died Aug. 18, 2010, at a local health care facility.Born in Augusta on Oct. 3, 1937, she was the daughter of Howard S. and Marguerite R. (Proveau) Elliott.Marilyn married Joseph E. Nadeau on July 4, 1957, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterville. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church. She enjoyed gambling, visiting casinos, visiting beaches, and traveling, especially with her husband.Marilyn was predeceased by her parents; one daughter, Jennifer M. Mayott; and one sister, Linda Michaud.She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph of Waterville; two sons, Gregory S. Nadeau and his wife, Cheryl, of Waterville, and Christopher E. Nadeau and his wife, Mary, of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Joseph G. Nadeau of Waterville, Tim Hudon of Waterville, Adam McGuire and his wife, Kim, of South Carolina, Kiele and Krista Nadeau of Tampa, and Robby and Julia Mayott, both of Syracuse, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren, Marcus Farwell of Oakland, Jay and Aniya McGuire of South Carolina and Cylas Hudon of Clinton; one son-in-law, Robert Mayott of Syracuse, N.Y.; one sister, Patricia Bruneau of New Hampshire; two brothers, Ronald Elliott and his wife, Joyce, of North Carolina, and Thomas Elliott and his partner/wife, Jerri, of Ocala, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Dianne Pelletier and her husband, Rodney, of Winslow; two uncles, Thomas Elliott and his friend, Jean, of Fairfield, and Leon Elliott and his wife, Mary, of Augusta; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Waterville for their wonderful care of Marilyn during her illness.The family has requested no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at St. John Catholic Church in Winslow. Burial will be held the same day at 1 p.m. at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.Arrangements are under the care and direction of Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville.
