Born in Utica on August 5, 1936, Marie was the daughter of the late Salvie and Rose (Arcuri) Mazza. She was proud to have been raised at her family's loving Catherine Street homestead and educated locally. She was a graduate of T.R. At one time, Marie held a position with Marine Midland Bank and was lastly under the employ of Fleet Answering Service, the position from which she retired. Marie was a fantastic wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, a kindhearted woman who exemplified the truest meaning of motherhood and grand-motherhood. She couldn't have been more sincere and humble, and her family was so proud of all that she achieved and deeply appreciated her love and spirit of generosity. Her caring and loving presence will certainly be missed. She enjoyed caring and cooking for her family and had a good time gathering with her sorority sisters. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Marie is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Donna M. Caruso, and Carolyn R. and Walid Sharaan, with whom she resided, all of Utica; her sons and daughters-in-law, John R. and Michele Brennan of N. Utica and Kevin M. and Lynn Brennan of Deerfield; and her grandchildren, Sara Caruso, Kristyn Caruso, Khaled Sharaan, Alia Sharaan, Kayla Brennan, Alyssa Brennan, John Michael Brennan, Lena Brennan, Kevin Brennan and Jason Brennan. In addition, she leaves her brother, Brother Richard Mazza, CFX, of Boston; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; brother-in-law, Jim Carlo of Utica; and many special friends, including Carmel Anne. She was predeceased by her sister, Elaine Carlo. The family is grateful to the nurses and staff of the 5th floor and CCU at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center for their care and compassion in tending to Marie.
