Brennan, Marie C.Marie C. Brennan 88, died peacefully in her home on Sunday February 1, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong Stamford resident, Marie was born in Springdale on January 2, 1927, the daughter of the late Charles N. and Florence Chidsey. She graduated from Stamford High School. Mrs. Brennan was an active parishioner of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Stamford for her entire life.Marie Brennan was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, William H. Brennan Jr., her brother William James Chidsey of Springdale and two grandchildren, Christine and John Gregory Brennan. She is survived by her five children: William H. Brennan III and his wife Cathryn of Mount Solon, VA, Terrence Brennan of Pompano Beach, FL, Timothy Brennan and his wife Eileen of Trumbull CT, M. Christine Brennan and her husband Bruce Omdahl and Daniel P. Brennan and his wife Antonia both of Stamford. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: William H. Brennan IV and his wife Mary, of Ashburn, VA., Kelly, Robert, and Michael Brennan of Trumbull, and Daniel, Joseph and Kaitlyn Brennan of Stamford. She is also survived by two great grandsons Luke and Zachary Brennan of Ashburn, VA. Marie, a devoted homemaker, channeled her energy into raising her five children. She volunteered her time and talents to those organizations nearest to her heart: her local parish, Saint Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, St Cecilia's Elementary School, Saint Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary, Stamford Catholic High School, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. She was an active member of the Woodway Country Club for more than 60 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday February 07, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia RC Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's RC Cemetery, Darien, CT. The family will receive their friends at Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, (next to the Knights of Columbus) 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford, on Friday February 6, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friends may make memorial contributions to Project Lifesaver, c/o the Stamford Police Department, Bedford St., Stamford Ct 06905.
