McGowan, Marie A.Marie A. McGowan, formerly of Pearl River and New Windsor, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh, NY. She was born in the Bronx on May 26th, 1924 to John and Mae Nealis. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Manhattan. Marie met the love of her life, John McGowan, through her co-worker and future sister-in-law, Julie. Marie and John were married on May 4th, 1947. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She is survived by daughters, Maureen Parashkevov (Tanyo) of Pearl River, Christine Shenkman (Jay) of Washingtonville and son Neil McGowan (Linda) of Monroe and four granddaughters, Erin, Melissa, Kristen and Danielle. She is also survived by her sister, Loretta, sisters-in-law Julie and Heidi and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, John and daughter, Rosemarie.Marie will be most remembered for her unconditional love of her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by the entire family!Visiting will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home (318 N. Montgomery St., Newburg, NY 12550 - #845-562-0068). Monday services are for family only.
