HOUGHTON - Margaret Wynn, of 7411 Leonard Ave., went home to be with Lord she loved so much and served so faithfully on Saturday (Sept. 7, 2013). She was born on June 27, 1924, in Sunbury, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Altenderfer Wynn. Margaret attended schools in Sunbury, Pa., from 1930 to 1942, and was a graduate of Houghton College. She served as secretary and youth worker at the First Baptist Church in Altoona, Pa., bookkeeper at Girlhaven - a Christian home for court-committed teenage girls - and secretary to the President of Houghton College, retiring in 1988. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Altoona, Pa., and member of the Houghton Wesleyan Church. Margaret loved God, people, music (particularly her violin) and sports. After retiring, Margaret taught the toddler Sunday school class at Houghton Wesleyan Church for 16 years, and also managed the Cradle Roll until 2012, investing in the lives of countless children and their families. Margaret enjoyed attending many and varied concerts and sporting events, spending countless hours encouraging and supporting those who played and performed.Surviving are a sister, Ruth W. Foulk of Meadville, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great-grandnieces and grandnephews. She was a blessing to many and will be missed.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 10, 2013) in Houghton Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Dr. Wesley Oden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Houghton. Memorials if desired may be made to Houghton Wesleyan Church, Houghton College or First Baptist Church of Altoona. Funeral arrangements are under the direction the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore.
