NORTHPORT Margaret Williams Fields, age 83, of Northport, died Nov. 29, 2011, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ruth Dowdle.Survivors include her husband, Bobby D. Fields of Northport; her sons, Mike Davidson (Linda) of Tuscaloosa, and Don Fields (Jennifer) of Douglasville, Ga.; her brothers, Bobby, Tommy and Nelson Dowdle; her aunt, Mildred N. Davidson; her grandchildren, Traci Davidson, Rob Fields (Jamie), and Cody Fields; and one great-granddaughter who will come in February 2012. She worked at Gulf States Paper until they closed. She went back to school, earning her LPN license, and was employed by VA Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of Alberta Church of God. Her love of God and family sustained her through long illness. She is now resting with the angels. Pallbearers will be Tommy Dowdle, Nelson Dowdle, Steven Lollar, Rob Fields, Traci Davidson, and Cody Fields.Honorary pallbearers are members of Alberta Church of God; Hospice Complete caregivers Cindy, Cassandra, Shaletti, Greg, Lisa, and Mildred; Dr, Stephen Browne; and friends and neighbors of Monterey Drive.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alberta Church of God and Hospice Complete.
