Margaret W. Age 72, of Arnold Ave. Horseheads passed away at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday July 12, 2004. Her loving and supportive family includes her devoted husband of 53 years, Louis A. Clark; her daughters and sons-in-law, Constance and Thomas Weed Sr. of Horseheads, NY, Phyllis and Dennis Griffin of Breesport, NY, Lucinda (Garey Stout) Mathews of Elmira Heights, NY; grandchildren, Thomas Weed Jr., of Elmira, NY, Jamie (Pete Jr.) Mastrantonio of Elmira Heights, NY, Matthew (Stacey) Weed of Elmira, NY, Melissa (Michael) Huggins of Horseheads, NY, Sr. Airman Jason Wood of Barksdale Airforce Base in Shreveport, LA, and Melanie Griffin (fiance, Matthew Campbell) of Liverpool, NY; great-grandchildren, Arielle and Bo Huggins, Kaitlyn Weed, Julianna Mastrantonio and Adam Weed. Margaret was also predeceased by her sons-in-law, Mark Mathews in 2002, Steve Wood in 1986; and sister, Josephine Wall in 1999. Margaret was born July 30, 1931 in Windsor, NY, the daughter of the late Byron and Jennie (Crawford) White. She was married to her husband of 53 years in Emanuel Episcopal Church on Nov. 22, 1950. She was an early participating founder of Elmira Heights Cinderella and a coach for 8 years. Mrs. Clark was an avid sports enthusiast particular the Mets and Giants. In addition to the devotion to her family, she was an active and supportive grandmother to all her grandchildren's activities. She also loved cards including Yahtze, Michigan Rummy, Penucle and Euchre. Margaret was also a frequent patron and visitor of Blondes Restaurant in Elmira Heights. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, on Thursday July 15, 2004, from 5-8:00 p.m. her service will be celebrated on Friday there at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald Matthews officiating. In addition to floral tributes those wishing may also express their sympathy with memorials to Southern Tier Hospice 11751 East Corning Rd. Corning, NY 14830.
