Margaret-Ruth Hopper, née en 1926, conjointe de Harry Hopper, mère de Jean, Arnold, Arthur et Ruth, est décédée le 23 décembre 2003 à l'âge de 77 ans.
Stanger: Margaret Ruth (Hopper) 1926 - 2003 Margaret passed away peacefully on December 23, 2003 at the age of 77 years to join her Lord and Savior. Margaret was born on September 28, 1926 near Moncton, New Brunswick within a family of thirteen brothers and sisters. Left to always remember her are Alice Wortman, Arnold (Polly), and Don (Roxanne) Hopper of New Brunswick, plus Lewis (Joyce) Hopper who reside in Manitoba. Margaret is also survived by her loving family of four children; Ruth (Al) Gummo, Arthur Stanger, Arnold (Della) Stanger, Jean (Doug) Spenst, brother-in-law Ronald Stanger, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild of which all reside in Alberta. Near her childhood home in Hilsborough, New Brunswick, she met Harry Stanger, and they were married in 1950. Shortly thereafter the couple moved to the Orkney, Alberta district where they farmed together for forty years. Margaret, predeceased thirteen years by Harry - lived in Drumheller for a short time prior to failing health necessitating a move to Calgary enabling easy access to the hemodialysis ward of the Foothills hospital. During her time in Calgary, Margaret resided at Westbourne Place and the Brentwood Care Centre. Many heartfelt thank you's to all the care providers at these facilities. Caring love for her family and friends, sense of humour, steadfast determination plus enormous courage and will which she utilized to instill in others and the ability to cope with health issues are personal traits never to be forgotten. Margaret enjoyed a variety of music, bingo, cribbage, crafts and choir activities . She yearned for and took many travels back to the Maritimes to visit family and friends the last trip there being two years ago. A Celebration of Life was held at the Drumheller Alliance Church on December 30, 2003 starting at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow at the Sarcee Butte cemetery. A luncheon was provided at the Orkney Community Centre staring at 2:00 P.M. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to the Cancer Society. Courtney-Winter's Funeral Chapel entrusted with the arrangements.
