Margaret R. (Podany) Love of Binghamton Margaret Rose Love, 82, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, was called home by her Lord on Friday, May 7, 2010. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Mary Podany, proud Slovak immigrants who journeyed to America to forge a better life for themselves and their children. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Clarence "Red"; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jim of Binghamton and Rick and Linda of New Braunfels, TX; her grandson, Matt; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Esther of West Corners, NY; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews far and near. Marge retired from the Unemployment Division of the NYS Department of Labor in 1983, where she'd worked for 37 years. Following her retirement, she spent 17 years as a loyal volunteer with her cousin, Maureen, at the Willow Point Nursing Center, handing out cookies and smiles in equal measure. She enjoyed tending to the many flower beds that ringed her home and took great pleasure in helping her garden bloom. Margaret will be remembered by her family and friends as a warm and generous woman with a keen sense of humor; her gentle spirit while here amongst us will be greatly missed. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10&#58;30 a.m. on Friday at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St., Binghamton, Margaret's parish home since she was a young girl, where she was baptized, received her first communion, and was married. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Family will welcome friends and neighbors at the church on Friday from 9&#58;30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 10&#58;30 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
