Margaret Patricia Hansen September 19, 1922 - November 2, 2013 Cherished mother and friend passed away peacefully in the loving care of her daughters and sons at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. Margaret was a dearly loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother known for her fierce independence, fully retained even at her 91 years. Margaret was well respected for her honesty, intellect and resilient humor. She succeeded at many life challenges during her long life, the greatest of which was the acceptance of her terminal illness, Progressive Muscular Atrophy, with grace, dignity and humor until her final passing. Margaret leaves behind a large family of four children, twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren who will dearly miss her.The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the compassionate care provided by the Lions Gate Hospital Palliative Care nursing team.A memorial celebration of Margaret's life will be held at St. Anthony Parish, Roman Catholic Church in West Vancouver at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 09th, 2013.
