BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Margaret N. Anderson were held Friday, June 2, 2006, from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church, where the Mass of resurrection was offered by the Rev. James Preskenis, pastor.Organist for the Mass was Diane Maynard. Musical selections offered during the Mass were “Here I am Lord,” “Ave Maria,” “Be Not Afraid,” “Prelude” and “Prayer of St. Francis.”Serving as acolytes were Leonard Anzivino, Bernard Bourgeois and John Reed. During the Mass a wooden cross was placed on Margaret’s casket by her niece, Barbara Spreer. The readings were offered by two great-great-nieces Megan and Kate Carroll.The offertory gifts were presented by Barbara and Tom Spreer. James E. Carroll, husband of Margaret’s great-niece, Roberta, offered the eulogy. Serving as pall bearers were Kenneth Smith, Michael McGarrahan, John Gorman, John Mahar and Alexander Mahar.The burial followed in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Preskenis offering the committal prayers. Following the committal prayers, “New York, New York” by Frank Sinatra was played on CD.Margaret N. Anderson, 94, widow of Raymond C. Anderson, a resident of Fillmore Pond, died Monday, May 29, 2006, in Bennington. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, Bennington.
