Margaret May Murphy, age 85, of Butler, Missouri, died Friday, June 27, 2008, under the loving care of her family and Hospice, in her home in Butler. She was born January 7, 1923, in Sarcoxie, Missouri. Margaret resided in Greenfield, Missouri almost her entire life, where she raised her family and worked many years as a secretary at Greenfield Elementary School. She and her husband, Melvin, enjoyed their grandchildren, gardening, fishing and RVing after retirement. She was active in her church and community organizations. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Joyce Harris and husband, Monte of Bellview, Missouri and Pat Decker and husband, Al of Butler, Missouri; four grandchildren, Robert Garrison, Lanny Garrison, Amber Troyer and husband, Eugene and Ashley Kelly and husband, Michael; and one great-grandson, Reece Troyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Melvin Murphy; one daughter, Janice Murphy; three brothers; and four sisters. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, in the First Christian Church in Greenfield, Missouri, with Rev. James Stanfield-Myers officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, in Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555), Butler, Missouri. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, Missouri.
