Mrs. Margaret Mary (Lambie) Lively January 15, 1911 - December 15, 2008 Bedford, and a resident of St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Halifax, for the past six and a half years, passed away peacefully in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, December 15, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Halifax January 15, 1911, she was a survivor of the Halifax Explosion and moved to Bedford at the age of 15 with her parents, the late William T. Harrington and Margaret (McLellan) Harrington. Before her marriage, she worked at the Bedford Telephone office for many years. She married the love of her life, the late Lionel S. Lively, and together had four children. After the death of Dad, in 1960, Mom returned to the workplace at Wrathall Insurance and finally to the V.G. Hospital from where she retired after 12 years of service. Mom was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of St. Ignatius Church, Bedford. She was the recipient of the Archdiocesan Medal for her work at the church in 1990. She is survived by her two daughters, Betty Dwyer (Murray), Bedford; Madeline MacKay-Kelly (Mort), Windsor Junction, and her son, Bud (Carol-Anne), Bedford. She is also survived by her special daughter-in-law, Joan Lively (wife of her late son Gordon, who predeceased her in 2005), eight grandchildren, Sheryl Drysdale (Mike) Fisher and her children, Colin and Reghan Drysdale; Clair Lively (Julie) and their children, Jillian, Andrew, and Shane; Tim MacKay (Shelley); Allana Milburn (Darren) and their children, Diana and MaryBeth; Kevin Dwyer (Lisa) and their son, Brett; Jeff Dwyer and his children, Ben and McKenna; Shelley Turnbull (David) and Craig Lively (Christine) and their children, Alexander, William, Jacob and Austin.She is also survived by her nephew, Bryan Monteth (Krista) and their children, Bradley and Justin, also by her very special niece, Phyllis (Honey) Kynoch and her husband, Rev. Harley Kynoch, Halifax. She was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her son, Gordon, her brothers, David and Sandy and her sisters, Kathleen Fox, Mary Dwyer and Bonnie Monteth, and by her son-in-law, Murdock MacKay. Mom was a very proud mother and her biggest joy in life was being surrounded by her family. We want to thank the doctors and nurses of the Emergency Dept. and 8.2 of the Halifax Infirmary, QEII for their excellent care. We also thank the staff of St. Vincent's Nursing Home, with a "special" thank you to the 5th floor for their care and compassion given to Mom over the past six and a half years. Visitation will be today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday morning in St. Ignatius Church with Father Albert Cosgrove officiating, reception will follow in the church hall.
